Thai - Cambodian Border Camps 1975 - 1999

Phnom Chat: A Vietnamese camp within Khmer Rouge camp, open in 1979 (?)

Red Hill : About 10 Km from the border inside Thailand, in the vicinity of Nong Samet and Phnomchat

Nong Samet : established in 1979 near Khao I Dang.

Dang Rek: established in mid-1983, incorporated into Site 2 in March 1985.

Khao-I-Dang: Khmer refugee camp. Opened Nov. 21, 1979.

Nong Chan:

NW 82: Camp for Vietnamese land refugees opened at Nong Samet Dec. 1981.

Site 1: Evacuation center in the vicinity of Dongrek Vietnamese camp.

Site 2: Refugee camp near Taphraya, Thailand.

Site A at the border next to Phnom Dangrek camp.

Site B Refugee camp 80Km from Surin, Thailand. Also known as Green Hill. Established June 1985.

Aranyaprathet: Inside Thailand, Camp for "Chú Cùi"

Nong Chan was not the same as Nam Yuen--Nam Yuen was near the Thai-Lao border. Nong Chan was near Aranyaprathet. See maps at http://www.websitesrcg.com/border/maps/Border-camps-1979-1984.jpg.
