Coi danh sách đó anh bồi hồi và xúc động khi nghĩ đến những vất vả cực khổ lúc đó , nhất là những người đã bị hành hạ và làm nhục bởi bọn Khmer Đỏ . Hôm gặp Ngọc ở VN cũng vậy , khi kể lại chuyện chứng kiến cảnh Nguyễn Văn Thịnh bị bắn chết bởi bọn Thái ban đêm , anh xúc động đến không cầm được nước mắt .

Trong danh sách đó anh biết những người đi phục quốc là Trần Trọng Luyến , Lâm Văn Sử , Huỳnh Văn Thông Thạch và Tạ Hoàng Thiện. Ba người sau là bộ đội . Tất cả đi từ trại Nong Samit . Có một người trốn đi từ Phnom Chat và mất tích là Vũ Văn Tài (Tài Cụt - cụt một tay trái nhưng vẫn xử dụng tay kia và một mình có thể tự đóng đinh vào tre !). Kiều Anh Tịnh thì bị đạn lạc chết tại Nông Samit . Anh còn nhớ là lúc chôn Tịnh , Cường viết tên tuổi bỏ vào một cái chai niêm kín để trong hòm . Ngoài những người trên , có một số đến trại nhưng sau đó được đưa qua Aran và không thấy trở lại .
