Peace. Yesterday I came home from long travels in Myanmar and Timor Leste to find your email and also your card inviting me to the amazing reunion on 22 June in Montreal. How I would love to be there. It is a joy to know of the memories and solidarity we share and to hear from you after so many years. It is fantastic, a thrill. You bring back so many wonderful and poignant memories of those years.
In the last years I visited Fr Pierre in Chennai and last year went to see his grave in a quiet corner in the grounds of Loyola College that he loved so much. A great friend. Here I send you some photos.
Unfortunately my duties here are huge and I cannot take the time needed for a trip to Montreal, let alone the cost. For the moment I am involved deeply both in Myanmar and in Timor Leste apart from other roles for the Jesuits in Asia. We are building a teacher training college for Timor and for Myanmar preparing for the return of the refugees.
Please remember me to so many friends at the gathering and assure all of my love and solidarity of prayers.
